La Mer Beachfront

La Mer, nestled along Dubai's coastline, is a prime attraction for beach and promenade lovers. Its strategic seaside location, combined with an expansive beach filled with amenities, trendy dining options, and modern shops, has made it a go-to spot. Developed by Meraas, the mastermind behind several of Dubai's iconic projects like City Walk Dubai, The Beach at JBR, and Boxpark, La Mer stands out with its blend of chic architecture, palm trees, lush lawns, ponds, decorations, and atmospheric lighting. Particularly in the evenings, La Mer bustles with energy as restaurant terraces brim with both locals and tourists.

Boulevard and Dining Options

La Mer Beachfront was launched in phases, with La Mer North and La Mer South inaugurated in October 2017. Together, they boast 130 shops, cafes, and restaurants, a pristine 2.5 km white sandy beach, a children's playground replete with a trampoline park, and various beach and water sports activities, such as wakeboarding, kayaking, and flyboarding. Besides the clear blue sea, the beach also offers a panoramic view of Dubai's impressive skyline.

For convenience, the beach has changing rooms, ample toilets (including facilities for the disabled), shower cabins, separate prayer areas for men and women, and charging stations. Visitors can rent sunbeds, umbrellas, or private cabanas to unwind. And for those requiring wheelchair access, La Mer offers free rentals.

No beach is complete without a beach club. Enter Sea Spice Beach Club, where guests can savor delectable cocktails and mocktails while watching the sunset. If you're seeking a more private experience, rent your own cabana right on La Mer's sandy shores.

La Mer Amenities

Just like other Meraas developments, La Mer is artfully designed with contemporary structures interspersed with verdant spaces, water features, and fountains. Its ambiance bears a resemblance to The Beach at JBR, making La Mer the perfect spot for sun, sea, and gourmet delights. In the evening, relax at one of its many restaurant terraces, or simply enjoy the sea views from numerous seating spots.

Opened in early 2018, La Mer's third section, known as The Wharf, houses the Laguna Waterpark with its high-tech surfing amenities. This section also contains a cinema, more shops, restaurants, a hotel, and luxurious residences on the artificial peninsula.

Location and Accessibility

Situated in Jumeirah 1, La Mer occupies the former Jumeirah Public Beach site. It's adjacent to the Dubai Marine Beach Club Resort and flanked by Pearl Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bay, spanning an impressive 1.24 million square meters. Notably, it's in close proximity to the Etihad Museum, Jumeirah Mosque, and Dubai Water Canal.

Reaching La Mer is straightforward, thanks to its location on Jumeirah Road. It has a parking garage with 1,100 spaces, priced at 20 AED per hour. However, spend 100 AED or more at any La Mer store, and you’ll enjoy the first three hours free.

Getting to La Mer

Public transport users can take the RTA bus numbers 9 or 88. Some major Dubai hotels and the City Walk Mall also provide a free shuttle service to La Mer. This service is available from popular spots like Media Rotana, Atana Hotel, First Central, and Somewhere Hotel in Al Barsha, as well as from Sofitel Downtown, Marrit Hotel Business Bay, and the Renaissance Hotel in Business Bay.

Being a public beach, La Mer is accessible 24/7. But remember, swimming in the sea post-sunset is prohibited in Dubai. La Mer's shops operate from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekends. Its cafes and restaurants are open daily from 10:00 AM to midnight.
